This juvenile Great-horned owl arrived in critical condition – emaciated, severely dehydrated, and with a fractured wing (radius and ulna). Once stabilized, the owl required surgery. In the before and after photos, you can see the fracture and how the pin was placed to stabilize the bone. Surgery was a success and we are so grateful to our rehabilitation partners at Bluewater Centre for Raptor Rehabilitation for the great work in stabilizing the owl, bringing him to us and caring for him while he healed.
