    Requirements

    All the same requirements as listed in the general requirement section with the addition of the following:

    •  Communication is vital in this role
    • This position includes exposure to many allergens (peanuts, eggs, hay, pollen, dander, fur)
    • Must have access to the internet for communication

    Commitment

    • Minimum of a six-month commitment
    • Hours vary according to rescue

    Responsibilities

    Drivers are responsible for picking and dropping off contained patients. Duties include:

    • Pick-up/drop off patients from vet clinics, other wildlife rehabilitation facilities, airports and private dwellings in Ontario
    • Drivers will coordinate with hotline volunteers
    • Pick-up and drop will occur in a timely manner, maintaining a quiet environment during transport (no radio/no talking in the vehicle to minimize stress)
    • Pick-up equipment and groceries when needed (or a separate grocery volunteer)
    • Errands as needed
